To All My Readers

I am so excited to share my 100 blog post from my first day here in the blogosphere to this one. I have done my best to be consistent as humanly possible, set several schedule to adhere to my lifestyle, have endured several writer’s blocks, and unsure of what readers would actually be looking for. I stop trying to figure any of this out & just  simply decided to go with the Ms. Flo…LOL!

I started off wanting or just assuming I must post everyday & it would be a great idea but my 40 an hour work week comes along with sleep & many other life duties. I found out real quick that blogging takes time and an everyday schedule is a lot more serious than just picking me three or four days out of the week for consistency. However, I still feel fueled with fire to post daily & when that urge strikes I’m going for the gusto. Whatever the case maybe I am here and still thriving.

Learning a new language can be frustrating and rewarding at the same time. And by learning a new language, you can also learn about a new culture.

Hobbies are an important part of self-care. It’s good to do something that’s just for you. And it can help you manage the stress of everyday life.

Speaker Jim Rohn, said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”  Whether or not you believe this, negative people can bring you down. You’ll always have negative people in your life. But try to avoid them. Instead, surround yourself with positive, supportive people.

Are you carrying around a past hurt? It might be time to let it go. Holding onto these old wounds can keep you from becoming the best version of yourself.

Anyone can set goals. It’s reaching them that’s the hard part. It’s important to set the bar at the right height for success and then follow through. This  article can help you clear a path to success.

*Realistic?
*Attainable?
*Concrete?
*Positive?
*Motivating?
*Measurable?

Remember that most goals are good goals, they just need a little work! Start off small…Don’t overwhelm yourself with your goals!! After all, they are supposed to be good for you! If you do not make your set goal, it is not because you are a failure or you are not good enough. Use the opportunity as a learning experience to get up and try again. If something doesn’t work, it is not about trying again and again, but about DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

“I want to lose 25 pounds.”

“I want to be making a lot more money”

“I want to be a better husband and father.”

“I would like to learn Spanish.”

“I want to exercise at least three times a week.”

Do any of these sound familiar? Do these goals remind you of any goals you have set for yourself? Are these good goals to have? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then this article may be able to benefit you greatly.

How many times do you wake up, take a look in the mirror, and think “I hate being overweight!! I’m going to lose 50 pounds!!” Maybe you even say it out loud, or jot it down on a scrap of paper. But somehow, it just doesn’t happen. Why is setting goals and achieving them seem to be so challenging for so many of us? One very common reason is not having well-set goals.

Now, each of the goals above is laudable. But to have the highest chance of being accomplished, they could use a bit of work. Following is a set of qualifications for goals, a set of criteria to determine if what you’ve come up with are truly well-set goals.

*Realistic?
— Can this goal be realistically met?

*Attainable?
— Could this goal truly be achieved?

*Concrete?
— Is this goal specific and set forth in sufficient detail?

*Positive?
— Is this goal stated in a positive form?

*Motivating?
— Does this goal motivate you to accomplish it, or does it discourage you?

*Measurable?
— Is this goal time-limited?

Following these simple criteria will help you set goals that are more manageable and will give them a higher likelihood of being achieved.

For example, say you want to lose some weight. Let’s look at this goal compared to some sound criteria for good goal setting:

*Realistic?
— Losing some weight can definitely be realistically met.

*Attainable?
— Losing some weight is usually pretty easily attainable as well.

*Concrete?
RED FLAG!! This goal is not specific, or outlined with any detail. How much is “some” weight?
Ten pounds? Twenty? And lost within two weeks? Six months?
—Suggestion: I want to lose 20 lbs. in six months. = GREEN FLAG!

*Positive?
— This goal is stated in a positive form, as opposed to stating that you do not want to gain anymore weight.

*Motivating?
— This one is up to you. All too often, we set goals that are so high they actually hinder us from meeting them. Take for instance, setting a goal of working out every day of the week may wind up being intimidating. Instead, making a goal to work out three days a week is much more manageable and much less overwhelming.

*Measurable?
RED FLAG!! This goal is not time-limited or measurable.
—Suggestion: I want to lose 10 lbs in three months and take two inches off my waist = GREEN FLAG!

Let this example guide you as you set your goals by making sure that, at a minimum, your goal meets the above criteria. Spend some time thinking about why a particular goal is desired and what it will mean to you. Losing weight, for example, will improve your appearance, give you more energy, raise your level of self-esteem and self confidence, lower your blood pressure, etc. Now that’s motivating!!!

Another important key is to write your goals down. Then break them down into manageable steps. Take time to review your goals frequently–some experts suggest reviewing them on a daily basis! This keeps you focused on achieving them, and helps you make better decisions about how to manage your time and priorities. Taking the time to set well-thought out goals can truly make a difference and set you well on your
way to achieving them and becoming more successful–at whatever you choose to do.

While great in theory, taking on new commitments just adds to your plate — and if you’re like many — your plate is probably overflowing already! So before increasing your to-do list for the upcoming year, how about getting rid of some items? Sometimes discarding is the best way to make a fresh start.

1.) Clean out your email.

Do you save all your emails “just in case?” The new year is a perfect time for an Email Emptying Event! Delete unnecessary emails, and organize by creating folders to store those you truly need going forward. Another benefit – this will likely improve the speed of your computer.

2.) Organize your space.

At the office dump old papers, calendars, reminders, and other desk clutter that keep you from having an efficient workspace. At home, take on your closets, drawers, shelves and file cabinets. Having a clean space reduces stress and increases productivity.

3.) Let go of an unhealthy habit.

Has giving up tobacco or overeating been on your mind Make this the year. Quitting — with a plan — is positive and renewing. Keep your goals specific and realistic to avoid frustration.

4.) Make room for “yes.”

Many find it hard to say “no,” and wind up being over-committed. Dust off the word “no” by replying to requests with an acknowledgment of all that is already on your plate. Recognize we all have limits — if not in energy — in time! Look critically at your workload at home and work, and if possible, shed one commitment you made under pressure. Practice saying a confident “no” to new requests for which you really don’t have the time or energy. This also creates the space for a “yes” to those things that truly energize you. So for every “discard,” you make room for all that reflects who you want to be in the new year!

  1. Go bland before bedtime. To fall asleep quickly,
    avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol for at least four
    hours before you go to bed.
  2. Be predictable. Go to bed around the same time
    every night, and try to follow a similar routine. Waking
    the same time every morning is also essential in keeping
    a regular sleep schedule.

  1. Don’t toss and turn. If you can’t sleep after 20
    minutes, get out of bed and do something else until you
    feel sleepy again. Tossing and turning may cause more
    anxiety than relaxation.
  2. Save the bed for sleep and sex. Avoid paying bills,
    reading the paper or watching TV in bed. It is important
    to correlate your bed with sleep, not stress.

  1. Take a bath. Take a warm bath before bedtime to
    help your body relax. You may want to add lavender or
    other soothing oils into your bath water. Also, taking a
    bath can be more relaxing than a shower.
  2. Exercise early. If you exercise, do it before dinner,
    not after. Exercising late at night can wake you up
    instead of help you to relax.

  1. Make your room dark. People usually sleep best in
    a cool, dark environment. Hanging heavy drapes or
    wearing a sleep mask may help.
  2. Grab a snack. It’s hard to sleep hungry, so try a
    light snack before bedtime. Warm milk is thought to
    naturally induce sleep by releasing the natural hormone
    L-Triptaphan. Keep the meal light, because eating a
    large meal can cause restlessness.

  1. Cut naps short. If you have trouble falling asleep,
    consider avoiding naps. At the very least, limit them to
    less than an hour before mid-afternoon.
  2. Address your stress. If daytime troubles keep you
    awake, try jotting notes about ways to deal with them.
    Leave stress at the bedroom door, if possible.

It is so mandatory for me to have my own vehicle because depending or even asking other people for a ride anywhere makes my A$$ ache just thinking about. In all honesty, people can truly be ANAL & I do mean that wholeheartedly without any thoughts of biting my tongue.

Over the years, I have had numerous cars to count. My credit is far from being superb & I needed to make something happen for myself at the beginning of last year. The very last thing in this world I needed was a freaking car note. At times in our lives, we have to make it do what it do with no regrets. Just imagine having to depend on other people I just don’t see it so you already should know it’s not a figment of my imagination. For me, this is not an option! People really act funny when they have & you don’t & they feel as if you need them.
